Story: Based on testimonies of textile workers recorded over a period of several months, 'From the Distance' depicts the plight of immigrants who were subjected to exploitation in illegal sweatshops. It follows the stories of workers who have arrived from Bolivia to Buenos Aires lured by the promise of work. An unusual technique serves as a fresh starting point: the film is portrayed by 25 actors and non-actors who perform in real locations, therefore instantly creating a strong dislocation between what is seen on the screen and the horrible facts that lie underneath the surface.
