As the title aptly suggests, Maach Mishti & More is an urban saga thatrevolves around a typical Bengali household in Kolkata. The movierevolves around three brothers and their love life as well asportraying the household problems, love, hope, despair and familyvalues in the background of the present day Kolkata. Mainak Bhowmick issuccessful in capturing the struggle between old and new ideas. Thecoolest person of the family is their 'dadu' (grandfather) SoumitraChatterjee; Rony (Parambrata), has done an excellent job. Anubrata(Raju) is youngest and probably the wisest brother in the family andwants to be an actor. Everything about the movie is really good fromdialogue delivery to the simple yet intriguing script except perhapsthe part played by Souvik (Rahul) as the eldest of the three brotherswho has just came back from America to start a restaurant of his own.Well, Souvik was trying a little bit too hard (read 'over acting') andthat weird Bengali pronunciation is really irritating. Overall themovie is really good and definitely worth Streaminging.

I really don't know if there in nothing new happening in Kolkata inrecent time except extramarital affairs, endless nostalgia of NRIs,nihilism, generation gap, drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes by girlsetc etc. I mean, these days, I can almost pre-visualize eighty percentstories of Kolkata-movies that I Streaming.Perhaps, I miss the rest twentyjust because I get deflected out of boredom at one point. Maach, Mishtiand More is no different.
Pointless to say that the film has fabulous casting of recent times -some of them are my personal favorite and yet, failed to offer mesomething unique. I felt like I already saw this family, their crisisfor multiple times in multiple films. Raima, Swastika, Param are goodas usual. Others are also found well honest to their characters.Seamless plot ran gently as they usually do. But, the show nevergripped me for once just like the trailer did. Sure, had I seen it asit is the the first one of its kind in my life, I would like it a lotmore.
